We are a Blenheim-based consultancy. Our practice field description as approved by the Engineering New Zealand is : 'Investigation, Design and Construction Observation for Low Rise Buildings'. Our expertise covers land-based and nonetheless foreshore structures. There is no job too big or too small and we can provide a complete package including draughting services related to our design.
Alfastruct Limited is directed by Razvan Rocas, a Chartered Professional Engineer (Structural) with over 16 years of experience gained in the wide Marlborough Region.
I arrived in Blenheim in 2006 and started my consulting engineer career working for a well known local company. I subsequently gained significant local knowledge and skills covering a broad spectrum.
I am married and we have two young children and a number of pets. When time is right, I enjoy my motorcycles and also model and full size aviation.
We work closely with architects, architectural draughtspersons and with the owners or their agents to create dependable systems in line with the latest Codes and Regulations.
This includes new dwellings and alterations to existing, seismic repairs, retaining walls, assess ground conditions for foundations, inspections and more.
We provide design services supporting the local industry needs such as wine making facilities, storage warehouses, workshops, offices, catwalks, services bridges and so on. We also provide seismic assessments and strengthening of existing buildings to assist the insured and also the insurers.

Condition survey of existing structures to support their Resource Consent revalidations.
Past experience includes DOC structures, Port Marlborough marinas, Marlborough Lines infrastructure, small bridges for farms and on Council land (also a narrow-gauge railway bridge), scaffolding including temporary shelters, playgrounds...
We also perform construction monitoring in behalf of other engineers.
